Baby Jameson/ How to Get Studio Shots with Out a Studio

I work for a pest control company doing dispatch while my husband goes door to door selling their product, that's why we're here in TN. My friend Jenna was training a new girl on my computer and A: I knew she would be bringing her darling baby boy Jameson and B: I would have nothing to do.

SO I packed up my camera and any boyish blankets we had around the house, the boyfriend (which is one of those chair pillows, it's what a group of friends called it when we were single, even hubby calls it the boyfriend now), and hoped for the best in the lighting department.

I had recently seen a blog by ljholloway one of my favorite photographers and someday I only hope for her clarity and lighting skills, anyway...I saw her "studio" and it was basically paper backdrops and cute baby props in her garage! I am currently working in a garage so I took the chance that I might be able to pull this shoot off.

I improvised by using a wood palette and the soft blankets I brought, then I opened the garage door for a more subdued lighting effect, direct sunlight is AWFUL! I got Jameson on a certain angle and then acted really silly so he'd smile while I shot away. It was quite the workout but I really like the way they turned out!

From this....

To this....  I don't know, I think it worked! What do you think?
